June Trisciani

June came to the Do It Left Project as she embarked on a competitive Primary in the Manchester Municipal election of 2021. If elected, she would be the first woman to ever hold the office. After our first consult, we got straight to work, building her a competitive mail and digital program. She came in 3rd out of 8 candidates and moved quickly to the General work at hand. To amplify her message in the General, we increased the digital media buy and expanded the targeting and range of ad types, did a professional photoshoot and did 3 additional mail drops.

What worked

The mail program was clean and consistent, delivering her message to a core group of voters who were likely to turn out. Then we built a comprehensive digital program that matched and reinforced the messaging of the mail program but expanded the audience and extended the reach of June’s message beyond our mail universes. We used Catalist data through the DSP Political Deploy Platform to create sophisticated digital targeting based on turnout likelihood and party ideology. We created targeted programmatic video campaigns that used strategic messaging to persuade high turnout moderate Republican and Republican-leaning undeclared women to vote for June. We believe our work for June’s campaign demonstrated that providing voters with multiple opportunities to learn about a candidate and her message through multiple mediums across multiple platforms can be incredibly effective. She was a first-time candidate who came out on top in a complex citywide race.
